Job Summary:This Kitchen Porter/Steward position ensures the kitchen remains clean and organized by washing dishes, sanitizing work areas, maintaining kitchen equipment, and completing all necessary janitorial tasks.
Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: May 21 - October 3, 2025Pay: $16.35/hrSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Communicate closely with Chef on Duty.
- Ensure kitchen area is clean, well maintained and organized at all times.
- Ensure floors are dry and clean at all times.
- Oversee all equipment is clean and in good working order.
- Ensure waste areas are clean and tidy.
- Supervise and train Kitchen Workers in the dish-pit area.
- Oversee Xanterra and National Park Service standards are met throughout kitchen area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to oversee the operation and maintaining the sanitation of the kitchen area.
- Must be familiar with proper use of chemicals, and draining and filling dish machines.
- Must have experience as a supervisor or lead role in a Back of the House/dish-pit function.
- Ability to communicate clearly to create a Teamwork environment.
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
Physical Requirements include:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours.
- Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions.
