What you bring to the table
As our Test Baker, you'll be the technical expert driving innovation and quality at our state-of-the-art Baking Center. Leveraging your deep knowledge of yeast-raised baked goods, you'll provide insightful analyses, decisions, and recommendations to support the development and testing of new and existing products.

What you’ll do as a Test Baker
- Leverage your technical expertise to resolve field concerns at our state-of-the-art Baking Center
- Apply deep knowledge of yeast-raised baked goods to provide insightful analyses, decisions, and recommendations on product usage
- Evaluate new and competitive products, including line extensions, improvements, and alternative ingredients
- Conduct laboratory-scale bake testing on raw materials, equipment, and emerging technologies
- Perform quality assurance baking tests to ensure product excellence
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends impacting baked and cereal goods
- Communicate findings through detailed, impactful service reports
- Prepare experimental product samples for customer testing
- Collaborate with field technicians and participate in training for employees and customers
- Support the New Product Development Lab Manager and contribute to special projects
- Ensure the safety and efficient management of the Baking Center facilities
- Maintain inventory of critical raw materials
- Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and formal baking training is required
- 5 or more years of experience working in a baking setting including basic laboratory training, and professional and technical interest are required
Preferred qualifications:
- Proficiency in Spanish or French is preferred but not required
