About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:
- Research various sources, analyze information, and initiate actions on tax issues, including obtaining relevant documents and adjusting taxpayer accounts.
- Secure payment of delinquent taxes and file delinquent returns, determining financial and uncollectible information, and advising taxpayers on appeal procedures.
- Serve as a technical advisor, OJT coach, classroom instructor, or reviewer, providing technical assistance on systemic problems and inconsistencies in IRMs.
Qualifications:
- Federal experience is not required; candidates will be considered based on specialized experience and/or education.
- For the GS-04 grade level, general experience includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work indicating ability to acquire necessary competencies.
- Substitution of education for specialized experience may be considered, with options identified in the online questions.
- Specialized Experience for the GS-05 grade level requires one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service.
- Examples of qualifying experience include researching and processing financial documents, reviewing information, and determining corrective action on accounts.
