GENERAL SUMMARY

Manage the development of renewable energy generation and energy storage projects of varying types as assigned.  Create resource solutions for public power electric utilities, community entities, and other commercial interests to implement project plans from the early feasibility phase through the construction phase.  Project size will vary, with typical development and construction budgets ranging from a few million dollars for small renewable projects to hundreds of millions for large conventional projects. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Project Management for all phases of development for renewable energy generation and energy storage projects, including identifying needs and opportunities; working with internal and external entities to ensure stakeholder needs are met; identification of funding sources and mechanisms; preparation of proposals and term sheets; formation and leadership of project teams; hiring and managing of outside technical consultants; preparation of project development and business plans, strategic plans and budgets, including project pro-formas; identification and development of project sites; obtainment of management, board and regulatory approvals; management of the procurement of major equipment and construction services; arrangement of project financing; coordination with Operations and Maintenance (O&M)/Professional Services for operating cost projections and project transition plans and checklists; and arranging for construction management services.

Negotiate term sheets, Power Purchase Agreements, contracts, and other development agreements with business sector manager support.

Provide direction and oversight of administrative and technical support assigned to projects.

Develop and maintain industry liaisons and current expertise for assigned power supply technologies, including attendance and/or participation on industry committees and forums, review of technical journals and periodicals and completion of selected training classes and seminars.

Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated.


Must support the biennial refueling outage as designated.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Project Developer II

A Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university and fourteen years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).

OR

An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and sixteen years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization)

OR

A high school diploma or GED and eighteen years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).

Project Developer I

A bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university and eight years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).

OR

An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and 10 years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).

OR

A high school diploma or GED and 12 years of progressively responsible exempt or professional level experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment (such as government agency or private or public utility related organization).

Pay Range:

Project Developer II Salary: $136,961 - $205,441

Midpoint: $171,201

Project Developer I Salary: $119,107 - $178,661

Midpoint: $148,884

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

Incentive Compensation

This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
