International Air Tool Company is a small, family owned industrial distributor based in San Marcos, California. We sell pneumatic tools and supplies online and in person to customers around town, across the border, and all over the world. The Position:
The primary mission of this position is to act as our anchor person for all things related to shipping, receiving, inventory, storeroom, and deliveries. This means more than just shipping packages, but also being able to solve the logistical and workflow challenges that come up throughout the course of daily operations. We need someone who can help us run smoother.
The secondary mission of this position is to back up our primary customer service person when the workload is heavy or they are on break. This includes using the phone and plenty of email. There is a customer facing element to this job so you must be comfortable with people.
The ideal candidate will have have worked for a distributor that buys and sells for a living. Knowledge of drop shipping and working on margin are a huge plus.
These are the duties you would perform:
- Shipping and receiving approximately 10 to 20 packages per day (picking, packing, staging, and making labels in the FEDEX and DHL web portals)
- Working in Quickbooks
- Solving customer delivery issues, lost packages, mis-shipments, defective products, etc.
- Running weekly inventory reports, working in excel, making labels, and organizing around 400 SKU's stocked locally.
- Making around town deliveries in the company vehicle 1 to 1-1/2 days per week.
- Issuing weekly inventory replenishment purchase orders
- Expediting past due purchase orders
- Helping customers with warranty claims and exchanges several times per week
- Listing surplus inventory on Ebay (around 5 or 10 items per week)
- Helping our primary customer service person with quotes and order entry during busy periods (can be as high as 10 per day)
- Doing whatever it takes to keep our customers happy!
Requirements:
- A rock solid work ethic and a great attitude are a must. You would only be the 4th person is our small space so an agreeable demeanour and positive disposition are required.
- 3 years prior experience in distribution or manufacturing.
- 3 years experience with QuickBooks, Sage, Profit 21, NetSuite, or a similar ERP system.
- 3 years customer service, purchasing, parcel shipping, or inventory control with some overlap or cross functional experience highly preferred.
- 5 years experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Knowledgeable about packing lists, pick lists, sales orders, invoices, quotes and other standard business forms used by distributors
- Excellent organizational skills
- Great attendance
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Basic business math skills and the ability to calculate markups, margins, and discounts.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills (speaking, listening, writing)
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
Location:
You will work from a small, but nice 2200 Sq. Ft. office and mini warehouse in the La Costa Meadows Business Park.
Schedule: Weekdays from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
