Job Summary:
For nearly 20 years, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) has provided critical grant funding to support the medical research projects of promising young researchers and mid-career professionals in the field of thoracic oncology. The Grants Coordinator provides operational and administrative support for these internal grant programs. The position is responsible for managing grant application processes, tracking funded projects, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and enhancing communication and engagement across these mission-critical initiatives. The Grants Coordinator will also assist in optimizing data management systems and grant-related workflows to improve program efficiency and impact.
This nonsupervisory, exempt position is based in our downtown Denver office on a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Development Program Manager.
Essential Functions:
Grant Administration
- Coordinate and streamline grant application processes, compliance reviews, and post-award monitoring to ensure adherence to funding requirements.
- Serve as the primary contact for grant applicants, recipients, and committee members, ensuring professional. timely communication and efficient coordination.
- Support the Research Grant Review Panel by facilitating grant reviews and funding decisions.
- Maintain accurate tracking systems for grant applications, funding distributions, and project progress.
- Develop and refine grant processes, evaluation criteria, and reporting mechanisms to enhance efficiency and impact.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline operations and maximize program impact.
- Assist the Development team in the creation of promotional materials to advertise sponsorship opportunities for grant programs.
- Actively support and demonstrate IASLC core values.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support programs (5-10%)
Support for Key IASLC Initiatives
- Ensure the efficient management of research funding and programmatic initiatives to support IASLC’s mission-driven growth.
- Provide operational and administrative support for IASLC Partners for Thoracic Cancer Care, as needed.
- Develop expertise in the use of selected corporate development technology platforms, including Open Water and Within3, and support end users to improve engagement and program execution.
- Facilitate professional communication and engagement with stakeholders across multiple initiatives.
- Assist in data management and reporting to optimize the effectiveness of grant programs and partner collaborations.
- Work collaboratively with the Development Manager, Programs and key stakeholders to prepare for future expansion and 2025 initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A deep commitment to the IASLC’s mission, passion for advancing thoracic oncology research and patient care, and compassion for those living with a lung cancer diagnosis.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years of experience in grants administration, research program coordination, or nonprofit program support
- Strong communication and interpersonal to engage positively and professionally with internal co-workers and external committees, applicants, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently to efficiently complete and manage competing priorities while also collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Ability to exercise professional discretion in managing sensitive or confidential information.
- Proficiency in standard computer programs and CRM software with demonstrated aptitude for quickly and efficiently learning and utilizing new software. Proficiency in use or administration of grant-related technology platforms and data analysis tools a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in prioritizing, organization, time management, data tracking, and project management with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work experience in oncology, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors.
- Familiarity with administrative processes for awarding and administering grant funding.
- International experience and multicultural sensitivity.
- Multilingual literacy/fluency helpful but not required.

Compensation: $55,000-65,000 annually commensurate with related experience
