SUMMARY
ICA Georgia offers a Dual Language immersion program in both English and Japanese. We are seeking a qualified and passionate part-time School Counselor to provide instruction and classroom management support to our teachers and students. In general, all employees and volunteers work together to fulfill the ICAGeorgia’s mission. RESPONSIBILITY
- The School Counselor supports teachers in meeting the educational and social-emotional needs of all students in the classroom and community.
- PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates and collaborates with teachers and students for all counseling needs.
- Provides support for students with help in academics, personal and social matters.
- Provide advisement to middle grades regarding academic and educational goals.
- Counsels students based on needs, observations, and referrals from teachers and staff.
- Implements Behavior Intervention Plans for students with desired needs.
- Monitors students on their welfare and any issues that need to be addressed.
- Supervises students closely with observation and understanding of general requirements.
- Assists students as necessary with any transitions that require transition needs.
- Assists students to achieve good safety procedures and protocol.
- Assists teachers and staff to address child abuse and neglect concerns if noticed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or appropriate administrator.
- Counselor may be asked to assist with the professional development of staff on socially related issues.
Requirements
EDUCATION: Associates Degree - 2 years of college credit, ED.S in counseling, or passing score on the GACE Test in School Counseling required.
CERTIFICATION: Must obtain and maintain as a Licensed Professional Counselor and School Counselor certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years
WORK ENVIRONMENT
