Position Summary:
ICC-ES PMG Staff Engineers report directly to the V.P. ES-PMG and perform duties of a technical and often complex nature. Their duties include determining the compliance of products, materials and methods with building, plumbing, mechanical and gas codes and technical standards, developing listing criteria, and representing ICC-ES before professional organizations, standards-writing bodies, and stakeholder groups. Duties will also include sales activities for the PMG group.
Position Responsibilities:
Through close review of technical data, evaluates products for code compliance and compliance with applicable technical standards.
Prepares listings, reports, technical criteria, and correspondence.
Conducts sales activities which include communication with potential clients and assist in the application/quoting process to secure new report applications and attend various tradeshows.
Develops technical criteria for the listing of plumbing products.
Provides expert advice to building/plumbing departments across the United States.
Participates as necessary in meetings of the ICC-ES Listing Committee.
Represents ICC-ES at meetings of consensus standards groups.
Representing the interests of ICC-ES, participates in conferences, seminars, and meetings of professional groups.
Also represents ICC-ES at meetings of international bodies; national, state, and local officials; industry groups; and other parties with an interest in building codes and product standards.
Keep abreast of developments in the PMG field
Communicates effectively with all ICC-ES stakeholders.
Performs other tasks as may be directed by the management of the PMG Program.
Travel as necessary.
Requirements:
Essential Skills and Education / Experience:
University degree in engineering or architecture.
Professional registration/license to practice engineering or architecture, or equivalent experience as determined by ICC-ES.
Career-level proficiency in at least one engineering specialty, and foundation-level proficiency in at least one additional specialty
At least five years of experience in an engineering-related field, the construction industry, code development or enforcement, or product testing; or equivalent experience as determined by ICC-ES.
Experience with modern design and construction methods and materials.
Preferred indications of competence to fill the position:
Basic knowledge of materials, tools and methods used in construction.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to independently solve complex engineering problems
Ability to work as part of a team to deliver professional services.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the codes and of design standards.

Salary : $70,000 - $110,000
