Project Engineers at ICI are responsible for a wide range of responsibilities, both on-site and office based, from preconstruction through final closeout and must be willing to travel between our Elmhurst office and multiple project sites throughout the Chicagoland area. Extended travel to project sites throughout the US may also be required.
Some Traveling May Be RequiredSome of the specific core responsibilities of a Project Engineer include :
Works with the Project Team to develop, drive and implement project goalsParticipates in New Project SetupAssists and supports the Project Manager in preparing and processing Owner and Vendor ContractsAttends project meetings and prepares / distributes agendas and minutes in a timely mannerReceives and Processes Design DocumentsAssists and supports the team developing site utilization programsMonitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA / QC policies, performance standards and policiesAssists and supports the team with procuring building permits and coordinating inspectionsMaintains Project DirectoryMaintains and coordinates submittal review, coordination, approval, and distribution of shop drawings, samples, etc.Maintains and distributes all project filesAssists and supports the team with preparation and monitoring of RFIsMaintains system to expedite construction materials, deliveries and equipment listsAssists and supports the team with change events, vendor estimates and proposalsPrepares appropriate company estimates and proposals for changesManages the punch list processManages the Closeout ProcessMaintains open, responsive, and professional communication and relationships with all team membersMaintains adherence to OSHA Standards of safetySkills and Competencies :
Understanding of basic construction technologiesAbility to read and comprehend construction drawingsStrong written and verbal skillsAbility to take initiativeCritical Thinking SkillsExhibit Flexibility and ResilienceAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectivelyFlexible and adaptable team-playerKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Procore Project Management SystemMaintain a professional appearance and mannerExcellent effective time and self-managementEducation and Experience
Bachelors Degree in construction management or similar preferredTier placement (PE I, II or III) based on level of experience and required oversightCertifications, Licenses & Registration
Must have a valid drivers licenseAbility to obtain the Walmart Safety, Employment, Waste, Stormwater Compliance CertificationOSHA 30 Hour Certification or an ability to obtainPhysical Requirements :
Position requires walking on rough / uneven terrain, frequent pushing / pulling / carrying of equipment / objects / debris of varying and often awkward sizes, shapes, and weights, including bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing on the job site.Sitting, standing and walking for extended periods. Climbing multiple flights of stairs and ladders repeatedly.Occasionally may lift to 50 lbs.
