Job Description
This is a professional position providing home office financial, contractual, management and technical management for IDG projects. The individual in this position is tasked with managing a portfolio of projects in a manner consistent with IDG's ethics / compliance standards and with technical and other objectives specified in the contract. Successful performance includes enabling projects to achieve quality programming and development outcomes. The Manager reports to the Senior Manager, and also participates in new business initiatives within International Development Group LLC.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
Operations
- Provide day-to-day operational support to country teams, including communicating and
assisting with field-office requests and overseeing field team's adherence to contract
requirements and government regulations.
Prepare, review, and submit approval requests for project-related activities; monitorcompliance with approval requests
Oversee financial aspects of the assigned projects by reviewing monthly invoices to ensureaccuracy and compliance with contract provisions
Responsible for monitoring monthly costs using contract budget monitor, tracking contractexpenditures against budget and total obligated funds, and regularly updating projections
Review and determine causes for variances to the budget and ensures that senior managementis aware of the status of budget performance and driving factors
Manages consultant and subcontract administration, including call order / task ordermanagement, budgets, and invoice review, and reviews deliverables to ensure they meet
technical and quality standards
Recruit long- and short-term personnel in accordance with IDG's practice and relevant U.S.government regulations
Conduct periodic field visits to monitor project administration, including conducting training,conducting quality control reviews, or responding to audits, providing input to work planning,
if / as needed, conducting technical research, and performing other operational tasks
Review and provide comments on project technical work and project reports and contribute totechnical content. Ensure deliverables are submitted on time and are compliant with branding
and making requirements
Liaise with client and subcontractors, serving as IPOP performance management unit's keypoint of contact
Identify issues or potential risks and makes informed decisions on how to address the issues,communicating with senior management
Supervise, develop, and evaluate assigned staff; ensure staff receive regular constructiveperformance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and the time and opportunity to grow
professionally
Perform other duties as requestedBusiness Development
Responsible for management of proposal efforts, including driving proposal conceptualization,teaming, and staffing
Assist in identifying new business leads and generating the intelligenceEdit and / or write proposal elements, provide key inputs to the cost proposal and ensureconsistency between the technical and cost proposals
Lead the production and submission of the proposals, expressions of interest, and capabilitiesstatements
Represent the Company at meetings with other companies, potential clients, and industryevents
Generate marketing materials, presentations, and the Company's websiteQualifications :
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree required in Economics, Business, InternationalDevelopment / Affairs / Relations, or related field
Minimum 4 years of experience in project management experience preferably with a USAIDcontractor(s)
Minimum 1 year of experience working on new business initiatives preferredExperience in budgeting, developing pricing strategies, and cost proposals desiredKnowledge of USAID regulations and policies (including AIDAR and FAR regulations)Proficiency in MS Office suite requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and on a team in a culturally diverse environmentStrong organization and prioritization skills, superb time management, and attention to detailWillingness to travel and work abroad in less developed countries for at least 4 to 6 weeks peryear
Fluency in a second language preferred
