What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Engineer position at International Display Systems, Inc.?
We are looking for a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join our Mid-Atlantic Operations Team to help deliver IDS Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS) products and services to our airport and mass transit clients. Your primary responsibilities as an IDS FSE are to provide Systems Integration and On-Site/Remote Technical Support Services for IDS clients in the Mid-Atlantic Region and nationally. This will be accomplished by performing the following typical work tasks.
- Build, test, and image servers/workstations/PC, network equipment, and audio/visual devices. Deploy new systems to job sites and field/site test with IDS Quality Assurance/Control measures to confirm proper operation and compliance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Proactively monitor system software operation and logs, servers/workstations/PCs operation and logs, network equipment and audio-visual equipment to confirm proper operation and to limit Corrective Maintenance Work Orders.
- Corrective Maintenance: Receive, Respond, Troubleshoot, and Closeout Service Work Orders using remote access tools and with on-site support.
- Direct and monitor the activities of the Subcontractors, Suppliers, and On-Site Labor as directed by your supervisor. Learn and Possess a thorough understanding of the Construction Documents, Specifications, General Contract, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.
- Assist the Project Manager/Field Service Manager to maintain the Project Schedule.
- Help ensure internal and external Quality Control Procedures and ensure/enforce Subcontractor adherence to the Construction Documents and Specifications.
- Inform Project Manager/Field Service Manager of changes to site conditions that may impact the Scope of Work and/or Change Orders.
- Meet and communicate with Project Manager/Field Service Manager, informing them of overall progress and answering their questions.
- Verify layouts and that each Subcontractor has properly completed their contractual requirements.
- Assist with Scheduling and coordination of material deliveries and to check quality and quantities to ensure accurate compliance to the Plans and Specifications.
- Ensure the work is being performed Safely and all Safety Protocols are followed. All IDS Field Service Engineers are required to acquire OSHA-10 Certification and to conform with all client safety program requirements, including drug testing, background verification, and site specific/job specific training certifications. Failure to comply with job safety is grounds for immediate termination.
- Promote a clean and cooperative work environment where all construction debris is properly disposed-off and materials are kept organized and properly secured.
- Cooperate with, and direct, when necessary, the activities of the inspection agencies.
- Ensure that all required permits or licenses have been obtained, and that construction signage is properly posted, and fencing is properly installed and secured.
- Create punch-lists and communicate that information to the Program Manager and the Subcontractors. Provide prompt work reports, expense reports, etc. using the IDS provide tools (i.e., laptop or tablet with Microsoft Office Suite software, phone, etc.).
- On-Site Superintendent of Subcontractor work activities, including some day and night shifts as required by Owner.
- On-Site Technical Integration Support of IDS provided Hardware/Software.
- On-Site/Off-Site Hardware/Software Preventative and Corrective Maintenance.
- Responsible for prompt and professional responses, troubleshooting skills, repairs and reporting of all PM/CM Work/Calls, including the support of other Project Team Members.
Salary : $69,000 - $91,000
