to International Festival of Arts & Ideas (“Arts & Ideas”) has inspired and delighted audiences with an annual program of over 200 performing arts and humanities events year-round, at least 80% of which are free.
Focused events in June range from world and nationally-renowned speakers sharing the stage with critical local voices for discussions on democracy, to jazz concerts, theatrical performances, dance; takeout mixology classes; bike and walking tours; and live, individual performances by local on-call artists on front lawns and sidewalks throughout the area.
Year-round programs include special town-hall events, a fellowship program for youth, planning and implementing mini-festivals in New Haven’s culturally-rich neighborhoods, participation in the NEA Big Read, and our annual Visionary Leadership Award program.

The Company Manager will work closely with the Programming and Production Departments to manage artist and speaker engagements at the Festival (including Neighborhood Festivals) and to manage fulfillment of any necessary staff accommodation and hospitality needs. The Company Manager’s responsibilities will include:
- Advancing necessary travel, hospitality, or accommodation needs with artists and speakers.
- Securing and/or negotiating relationships with vendors to provide artist services needs.
- Documenting and sharing information regarding engagements to relevant colleagues.
- Preparing and filing artist any artist or speaker visa petitions.
- Liaising with artists and speakers to schedule necessary advance communications and to create engagement itineraries for each participant or event.
- Overseeing the Artist Services department which directly fulfills the following areas of artists’ and speakers’ engagements with Festival: Transportation, Accommodation, Hospitality, Dressing Rooms, and Visas.
- Hiring and managing Artist Services staff.
- Managing the Artist Services Budget.
- Securing accommodation for Arts & Ideas staff members requiring housing and overseeing management of Festival staff hospitality needs during the Festival production cycle.

A note that Arts & Ideas programs in a seasonal fashion. With that, the months of April to July traditionally have heavier workloads than other months. In this period, some night and weekend hours may be required.
