Position Overview:
The Vice President of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals through effective management of the IFS Sales team, brokers, geographic territories, product management, and commodity utilization. This role will also maintain customer needs and cost management in travel, show, and sample expenses. This role will also set strategic goals and budgetary planning while working in conjunction with the Executive team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, Implement, and Manage Field. Strategic sales plan that aligns with corporate goals. The strategic sales plan should encompass annual sales budgets, segment growth, product growth, customer growth, and gross margin targets.
- Develop product launch strategies for new item/category rollouts and product innovation, utilizing market intelligence.
- Work with SVP Operations on SKU rationalization to determine the course for slow-moving items or categories.
- Maintain and uphold the Company’s culture and core values, championing a can-do attitude. Be a brand Ambassador and always lead by example.
- Develop and maintain strong and effective customer relationships with operators, GPOs, and distributors. Effectively manage customer relationships and customer service to enhance brand loyalty and brand expansion.
- Management of the field sales team, including K12, National Accounts, C-Store, and Alternate Channels, toward achieving corporate results. Management of performance and implementation of corrective actions and improvement.
- Oversee management of K12 Commodity utilization to Federal, State, Local, and Corporate guidelines.
- Work with the Bid Department on bid analysis, bid specifications, and bid pricing to achieve affirmative bid results and margins.
- Develop and implement annual field sales training programs and develop and implement periodic product application training in conjunction with the Director of Culinary and Sales Support.
- Maintaining thorough knowledge of industry, market, channel conditions, and competitive environment.
- Develop and manage a marketing strategy that aligns with the corporate strategic plan.
- Strong Business Acumen, including profit and Loss management, Travel and expense management, and budget development.
Qualifications/Competencies/Position Requirements:
- Strong follow-up and closing skills.
- Formal Sales training is a plus.
- Organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including business acumen.
- Through knowledge of federal guidelines for school meal patterns.
- Background check to be completed
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree or at least ten years of senior leadership experience is preferred; an MBA is a positive.
- Experienced in managing a portfolio and budget of $75 million.
Licensing and Certification:
- Serv Safe Certified
Working Hours:
- Business Hours but often will require evening and weekend work and travel depending on business needs.
Tools and Equipment Used:

Travel:
- Ability to travel as required, up to 60%
