What You'll Do
The Gluer Machine Operator position is a full-time, permanent position in a manufacturing environment focused on print production. This role is responsible for the efficient operation of gluing equipment used in the production of charitable and lottery gaming products, including pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets) and bingo paper.
The successful candidate will have strong machine operation skills, experience in print production and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues while maintaining high-quality standards. The right person for this job will also bring great teamwork, solid communication and strong leadership skills.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Operate and monitor the Gluer Machine efficiently to maintain consistent, high-quality production output, including managing sheet transport, registration, and glue application systems.
- Oversee "Start-up Procedures," ensuring proper setup, calibration, and troubleshooting any mechanical or operational issues using provided guides.
- Lead and coordinate the production crew to meet or exceed daily shift production goals while training and cross-training backup operators, feeder operators, and helpers for operational continuity.
- Perform regular quality checks by monitoring glue patterns, plate impressions, and settings while ensuring adequate materials such as index stock are available for production runs.
- Maintain detailed production reports, logs, and shift documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Identify and report production, safety, or quality issues to the Supervisor immediately, while ensuring work areas remain clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Conduct routine maintenance, general upkeep, and troubleshooting of the Gluer Machine to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Communicate effectively with Shift Supervisors, Feeder Operators, and Checkers regarding production details, special instructions, and potential issues.
- Assist with Feeder Operator or Checker duties as needed and perform additional tasks assigned by management.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
- High School Diploma or GED; additional technical training is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in machine operations, preferably in print production or manufacturing, with knowledge of finishing equipment and related machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving abilities with the ability to read and interpret production schedules, blueprints and quality specifications.
- Experience working with automated and high-speed machinery in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong time management skills, organization, and attention to detail are essential.
- Strong leadership skills to coordinate and guide a production team while managing multiple responsibilities and meeting strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn new software systems.
- Ability to lead a crew effectively while also working independently as needed, standing for extended periods, lifting materials and operating in a production environment.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (sponsorship is not available).
