The Need
For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Global Director, Operations Technologies.
The Global Director, Operation Technologies will be responsible for delivering maximum value to operations business leaders (Global Finance, Global Risk & Legal, Global People Support, Global Technology) through close collaboration and partnership on IJM’s multiple global enterprise applications. As IJM continues to scale, this leader will oversee a growing and complex portfolio of core enterprise applications. These applications currently include Workday (Platform, Finance, and Adaptive), ServiceNow (Service Desk, Legal), Global Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI and Tableau), Integration platforms (Boomi, CData), and global data technologies (Microsoft Azure).
The primary responsibility of this position is to partner with the Operations Council constituents to deliver consistent, standardized operations technologies and ensure scalability of the team’s structure and global support model. The Global Director, Operations Technologies leads development and support teams and facilitates continuous stakeholder engagement to deliver quality solutions that are production-ready for the business. This position partners with the Business, Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) and Global Technology Solutions (GTS) teams to ensure alignment while executing the product roadmap. This role provides guidance as it relates to best practices and ensures long-term success of solutions. The Global Director, Operations Technologies is also responsible for full system development life cycle, from requirements gathering through implementation of various functional architecture solutions.
This position is based in the Washington, DC area and is available to be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Vice President, Enterprise Applications and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Key Result Areas :
The success of this role is measured by the following KRAs :
- Management of Global Workday FIN and Cross-Functional modules and Budget platforms, as well as add-ons and core integrations.
- Management of technical components of IJM’s Data Strategy including Business Intelligence, Business Integration, Business Analytics, and data storage.
- Management of ServiceNow application delivery.
- Ensure teams meet standards for business analysis, configuration, development, testing, and delivery of new features in order to deliver quality solutions that are production-ready.
- Manage global configuration planning and execution with external vendor resources, internal analysts, business partners, and EPMO.
- Develop technical strategy and product roadmaps, provide product governance and manage release schedules in order to ensure long term viability and continuous improvement.
- Drive continual product improvements and inform the technical product roadmaps with new ideas based on strategic vision, product performance, and ongoing user requests.
- Manage and mentor a team of managers, product leads, and analysts, as well as coordinate and oversee IT partner or vendor teams to ensure high quality delivery.
- Leverage and bolster IT industry networks to ensure teams stay current on technology changes and opportunities.
- Coach managers in excellent vendor management of software partners especially during contract negotiations.
- Participate and sometimes lead in strategic planning to assist the business in determining how to more effectively leverage technology for their business needs.
- Drive successful adoption and value realization of systems deployed, at both the home office and field levels.
- Maintain budget responsibility for all operational technologies.
