What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Instructional Aide position at International Leadership of Texas?
Primary Purpose:
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, assisting in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities.
Qualifications:
- An associate's degree or two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or having met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- A valid Texas educational aide certificate.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- The ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- The ability to work well with children.
- The ability to communicate effectively.
Experience:
- Some experience working with children.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support
- Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher, working with individual students or small groups.
- Assist a teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Help a teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
- Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
Student Management
- Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
- Making a teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
Other:
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.
