What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Choir/Theatre Teacher position at International Leadership of Texas?
This role is for teaching in a school environment.
As a certified or non-certified teacher, you will be responsible for providing students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. You will enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Strategies:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet district requirements and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of student learning styles and needs.
- Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Modify curricula for special education students according to Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Work with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assign work to instructional aides and oversee completion.
Student Growth and Development:
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities assigned by the campus principal.
- Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.
Classroom Management and Organization:
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and suitable for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file reports, records, and other documents required.
Communication:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
Professional Growth and Development:
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Additional Duties:
- Perform any other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor.
