Job Title: Instructional Assistant - Special Education
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Instructional Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide instructional support to students with special needs under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction to students under the direction of the teacher, working with individual students or small groups.
- Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Administer and score objective testing instruments or work assignments.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment.
- Care for and maintain equipment.
- Prepare administrative records and reports as required.
- Orient and assist substitute teachers.
- Supervise students during the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
- Notify the teacher of special needs or problems of individual students.
Requirements:
- 48 earned college credits, associates degree, bachelors, and/or masters degree from a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution of higher learning (preferred).
- OR High School Diploma if formal academic assessment is passed as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
- Ability to instruct reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Ability to work well with children.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
Salary Information:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education level.
