Job Summary:
The 9th Grade Biology Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous biology instruction aligned with state and national science standards. The teacher will create a student-centered learning environment, incorporating hands-on experiments, inquiry-based learning, and technology to enhance scientific understanding. The ideal candidate will foster critical thinking, curiosity, and a love for science while maintaining a structured and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum and state standards.
- Teach biological concepts such as cell structure, genetics, evolution, ecosystems, and human body systems.
- Utilize various instructional strategies, including hands-on experiments, discussions, group projects, and technology-enhanced learning.
- Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and laboratory work.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special needs and English language learners.
Classroom Management & Student Engagement:
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Enforce classroom rules and school policies consistently and fairly.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through inquiry-based learning.
- Foster student curiosity and a passion for scientific discovery.
Lab & Safety Management:
- Organize and oversee laboratory activities, ensuring all students follow proper safety protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and materials, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Teach students proper scientific procedures, lab etiquette, and data analysis techniques.
Collaboration & Professional Development:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and improve instructional practices.

- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school administrators regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
