What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist Machine Operator position at International Machine Tool &?
To perform machining center operations as assigned by supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Setup machine
- Setup and change tooling
- Inspection of own workmanship
- Perform preventative maintenance on machine
- Clean machine and surrounding area
- Notify immediate supervisor of machine problems
- Filling out time cards correctly
Skills:
- Must be able to read blueprints‐both metric and SAE
- Must be able to convert metric and SAE dimensions
- Must have a working knowledge of trigonometry and geometry
- Must be proficient at machine set up and tool setting
- Must be able to read, understand, and edit CNC programs
- Must be able to inspect their own work using their personal measuring tools, along with the set up and use of company provided equipment (i.e. Bore gages, height gage, etc.)
- Must be skilled in the use of the CNC controls of their particular machines
- Must be able to load, unload, and handle parts using the overhead crane
- Must have three to five years machining experience (i.e. Lathe bridge port, vertical mill) including one‐year CNC experience
- Must have own tools consisting of but not limited to ‐ 0 to 3.00‐inch micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, telescoping gages, combination square, dial indicator. Six inch scale
- Must be familiar with service manual, and be able to do scheduled maintenance, and complete maintenance report
- Must be able to maintain items needed for proper running of machine (i.e. Oil, lube, filters tooling) and be able to order needed items through their supervisor
Safety Equipment Required:
- Must wear safety eyeglasses and hard leather, non-athletic type shoes while in all manufacturing areas of all facilities
