The African Department (AFR) is seeking a Security Analyst to work closely with the department’s Senior Security Management (SSM) Team. Under the supervision of the Senior Security Managers , the selected candidate provides support in handling the full spectrum of security related issues for AFR in HQ and field offices. In addition, the Security Analyst provides short- and long-term planning for business continuity and security programs, and builds and maintains cooperative working relationship with all stakeholders groups (SSM community).
Description :
1. Guide and direct staff in safety procedures - ensuring compliance with Security Accountability Framework requirements, e.g. ensure security briefings are provided and security training completed ahead of mission travel and mission approvals are obtained;
2. Monitor mission plans to identify upcoming missions which will require security clearance and proactively liaise with staff, CSF Security, and Country Security Specialist (where applicable) on security related matters;
3. Brief and train all new staff on AFR’s security procedures and contacts;
4. Ensure that all key documentation is updated in a timely fashion (business continuity plan, key contact information);
5. Liaise with CSF Security on IT issues (including recording of training compliance, registration for courses, Everbridge tracking app, etc.), in collaboration with the AFR IT team;
6. Conduct in-reach to maintain a safety and security conscious culture in AFR;
7. Coordinate with CSF Security Division as point of contact 24 / 7, 365 for all departmental response to incidents;
8. Serve as AFR’s Business Continuity focal point for all issues related to business continuity, emergency response, and safety programs;
9. Facilitate and track all security training compliance for the department, and make recommendations on training needs;
10. Under the guidance of the SSM, track all Country Engagement Plans (CEPs), including facilitating plans for keeping them up to date;
11. Be an active member of the SSM community, including by representing AFR in community events and providing input when needed.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in security risk management, international relations, emergency management, or related field. S / he will have excellent command of English, both oral and written, a proven ability to organize own work and work with minimum supervision, and excellent interpersonal skills. French language skills will be an advantage. In addition, s / he should be able to work well under pressure and react quickly and decisively in emergency situations.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate a proven leadership track record in a team environment and possess the confidence to interact with and instruct all staff in security matters, regardless of level. Previous experience in a security-related position would be a distinct advantage.

This is long-term contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability, and continuous business need.
