Position Overview
International has an exciting opportunity for an Engine Audit Technician. The Engine Audit Technician is responsible for evaluation of assembled products. Responsibility includes assembling, disassembling, and modifying engines, transmissions, and related components to complete projects in the Quality Audit Dept. Technicians also diagnose and make necessary repairs, work from drawings and prints, record results data, and operate the quality audit and production hot test cells.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: $27.83 Per Hour
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Performs engine/transmission audit analysis for assembly products.
- Diagnose and repair quality issues on engines and transmissions.
- Performs testing and assembly process evaluation as required.
- Support line quality issues in a timely manner.
- Understands basic assembly requirements and can execute them in a repair environment.
- Conducts emergency containment activities on engines/transmissions as needed.
- Processes NCM material through the NCM process.
- Serves as a liaison among Quality, Materials and Production concerning NCM material.
- Ensures NCM tickets are properly completed and processed.
- Maintains safe and clean work area.
- Assists with departmental projects and performs other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of diesel engine assembly and troubleshooting experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. - Physical Requirements (Ability to do the following up to 10 hours per shift):
- Walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl
- Climb using both legs and arms
- Head/neck movement
- Reach outward or above the shoulder
- Lift, carry, push, or pull 15-45 pounds
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers
- Use of vibrating tools
- Exposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces
Desired Skills
- Three to five years of experience as an engine mechanic or equivalent diesel mechanic technical school graduation certificate
- Knowledge of diesel engine control systems
- Three to five years of experience with quality instruments; i.e. micrometer, dial bore gage, and a digital volt and ohm meter
- Ability to read engine prints and wiring schematics
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines
- Ability to perform engine audits to ensure process compliance
- Experience with Microsoft office applications
