Position Overview
The Sr. Project Engineer - Reliability will support Reliability Management within assigned Product Development programs by supporting Design Robustness activities, including DFMEA, DRBFM, DRBTR, Failure Mode risk roll-up, DVP (testing). This role will directly influence International's ability to deliver scalable/reliable Software/Smart Systems applications within the range of commercial Trucks, Tractors and School Buses. The successful candidate will also play a pivotal support role in the design and deployment of systems to support both diesel powertrain, electric powertrain and systems to support autonomous vehicle features.
Responsibilities
• Determining Quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to design processes• Conduct investigations, analyses information and facilitates teams dealing with issues/projects associated with resolution of design problems• Promote the use of reliability techniques to ensure root causes of issues are being identified and addressed• Participates in product design reviews and program discussions to ensure plans are avoiding/mitigating risks adequately• Collaborate with internal SME's to drive the development and implementation of reliability methods, procedures and equipment that ensure superior & flawless Product Launches• Utilize warranty/reliability data to establish program reliability targets in support of overall cost of quality business objectives
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
- At least 8 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
- At least 6 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
- PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
- At least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
- At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
Additional Requirements

Desired Skills
• Design or validation experience with vehicle systems / components or Software / IoT applications space• Familiar with Statistical & Reliability packages such as Minitab, Weibull Smith, Reliasoft etc. • Understanding of product design life data analytics to deliver best in class product launches• Proficiency in Accelerated Life Testing Methods• Proficiency with Software Reliability Models (prediction/estimation)• Six Sigma Black Belt certification an asset• Experience leading Testing activities, including Reliability Demonstration Test designs• Proficient in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving techniques, ability to multi-task on multiple high-profile programs• Familiarity with the operation / function of smart / mechatronic components, failure modes and mechanisms
