Position Overview
International has an exciting new opportunity for a Wire Harness Fabrication Associate - 2nd shift to join our team at our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf, TX! The Wire Harness Fabrication Associate - 2nd shift will report to the area supervisor and support vehicle builds activities of International products which includes heavy trucks and school buses. The Wire Harness Fabrication Associate - 2nd shift will help support Navistar’s Research and Development group on 2nd shift Monday - Friday 2:00pm – 11:00pm.
The International Elmendorf Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is a Research and Development Facility as well as a support center for the San Antonio Manufacturing Plant that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles. The build operations department supports the R&D departments in the day-to-day operations and ensures that testing is not interrupted due to equipment failure or delays.
Responsibilities
- Fabricating prototype automotive type wire harnesses assemblies, including soldering and crimping.
- Vehicle installation of wire harnesses and overlays.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, drawings, written and verbal descriptions.
- Wire harness inspection.
- Learn proper and efficient operation of wire harness fabrication equipment.
- Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance of fabrication equipment.
- General labor around facility & other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate’s degree
- At least 1 year of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience
OR
- At least 2 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
- Vehicle level electrical system trouble shooting and diagnostics.
- Able to read automotive vehicle electrical schematics.
- Familiar with oscilloscopes and digital voltage ohmmeters.
- Collecting data using a Canalyzer and/or similar devices.
- Career experience in the heavy truck/automotive industry.
- Basic MS Office knowledge.
