The Job You Will Perform
The Journeyman Mechanic at our Rome, GA Linerboard Paper Mill will be responsible for performing work in our Instrumentation & Electrical Precision Maintenance Model. The Instrument Mechanic will earn the respect and confidence of others and accept increasing responsibility for his or her actions and decisions while learning, growing and developing in our Maintenance Gates Model to attain top rate as a Multi-Craft Mechanic. The role requires engagement in department activities and opportunities with a focus on continual improvement of; people, performance, processes, and productivity for a 2600 tpd containerboard mill.
Responsibilities Include
Journeyman Qualification in an industrial maintenance role. High School diploma required, Post-Secondary Degree; preferred.
Applicants will be required to complete IPs Journeyman Trade Skill Assessment/Selection process composed of Knowledge and Skills Assessment, Structured Panel Interview and Hands-On Assessment.

Responsibilities Include
- Install, Maintain, Troubleshoot and Repair Distributed Control Systems
- Knowledge of Process Control Instruments
- Installation and Calibration of Control Valves and Transmitters
- Perform Switch and Control Device Tasks
- Installation of Tubing, Wiring and Conduit, Rigging and Start-Up Commissioning
- Installation, troubleshooting and maintaining proper functionality of PLCs and Controls
- Competent use of tools of the trade
- Knowledge and use of; Tables, Graphs, Schematics, Isometrics, Manuals and Drawings
- Understands and demonstrates effective Team Skills
- Self-directed actions to complete necessary assignments
- Ability to follow direction of Supervisors and Lead Mechanics
- Focus on Personal and Team Development
