What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accounting Manager position at International Refugee Assistance Project IRAP?
Responsibilities
- Oversee the organizational day-to-day activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, monetary disbursements, invoicing / billing, payroll, fixed asset, and general ledger.
- Manage all closing processes, from preparation to completion, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Interact at all levels and with IRAP Finance team, international offices, and external stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting.
- Work with IRAP Finance team, and relative external parties to ensure overall coordination of all accounting activities.
- Prepare journal entries and accounts analyses.
- Coordinate an annual audit process and the IRS Form preparation.
- Conduct reconciliation of general ledger, payments, and accounts (banks, billing, etc.) to ensure the accounting system accurately reflects the correct transactions.
- Sustain / Develop an appropriate system of policies, strong internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures with continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Supervise a team of Accountant(s) to ensure they're motivated and provide proper support to meet their job duties and responsibilities.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to other personnel and departments when needed, and actively review and advise on financial and accounting processes.
- Assist the Senior Vice-President of Finance with the annual budgeting process.
