Opportunity
The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the IRAP’s accounting operations, including a monthly closing process for IRAP and international offices, overseeing all accounts and ledgers, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements, developing and maintaining robust internal controls, analyzing trends, costs, revenues, and accuracy of accounting operations. The Senior Accounting Manager reports to the Senior Vice-President of Finance.

Responsibilities
Oversee the organizational day-to-day activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, monetary disbursements, invoicing / billing, payroll, fixed asset, and general ledger.
- Manage all closing processes, from preparation to completion, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Interact at all levels and with IRAP Finance team, international offices, and external stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting.
- Work with IRAP Finance team, and relative external parties to ensure overall coordination of all accounting activities.
- Prepare journal entries and accounts analyses.
- Coordinate an annual audit process and the IRS Form 990 preparation.
- Conduct reconciliation of general ledger, payments, and accounts (banks, billing, etc.) to ensure the accounting system accurately reflects the correct transactions.
- Sustain / Develop an appropriate system of policies, strong internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures with continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Supervise a team of Accountant(s) to ensure they're motivated and provide proper support to meet their job duties and responsibilities.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to other personnel and departments when needed, and actively review and advise on financial and accounting processes.
- Assist the Senior Vice-President of Finance with the annual budgeting process.
- Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree preferred.
Must have at least 8 years of progressive work experience in non-profit accounting.
Proficient knowledge of and experience with nonprofit accounting practices.
