IRC Background:
IRC opened an office in Seattle in 1976 and provides a continuum of services including intensive case management, employment and economic empowerment services, immigration assistance, health and wellness programming, and education support to refugee and immigrant families in Washington State. IRC Seattle is committed to providing trauma-informed, equitable, and accessible services and maintaining and evolving a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace.

Job Overview: The Community Outreach and Education program provides culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate services to refugees. The purpose of the COE program is to help refugees gain vital knowledge and information and get connected to existing services and resources to help them rebuild their lives and integrate to new communities in the State of Washington. At IRC the COE program provides workshops, support services and outreach. The role of the Community Integration Specialist is to plan and facilitate workshops, conduct outreach and ensure program compliance.


Major Responsibilities:

Community Integration and Direct Services

  • Conduct outreach and recruit eligible clients for integration programs, ensuring they receive needed support.
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating cultural orientation sessions, workshops, and community events.
  • Coordinate and facilitate community integration sessions to clients.
  • Support referrals and connect clients to community resources, workshops, and services that promote self-sufficiency within an outside IRC.

Partnership Coordination

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with community organizations, service providers, and local stakeholders to expand available resources for clients.
  • Assist in organizing and scheduling partner-led workshops, trainings, and service coordination meetings.
  • Support communication and referrals between IRC Washington and external partners to ensure smooth service delivery.

Program Compliance and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate client records, ensuring all services, referrals, and workshop participation are documented in compliance with program requirements.
  • Assist in tracking program activities and gathering data to support compliance with grant reporting and program evaluations.
  • Ensure proper documentation of cultural orientation sessions, partnership events, and other integration activities.
  • Attend IRC meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Working Relationships:

Position Reports to: Resettlement Manager

Indirect Reporting: Resettlement Director

Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: Development Team, Finance Team, Operations, and other IRC Washington programs.

External: All community service providers, partners and organizations.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study preferred.
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.
  • Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
  • Experience facilitating dialogue, teaching, and presenting.
  • Experience in curriculum design and implementation.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.

Working Environment:

  • Standard, professional office environment; hybrid remote, office, and field work
  • May require occasional weekend and /or evening work


Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
