Job Description
The Finance Analyst plays a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy and relevance of the R&P (Reception and Placement) cost allocation policy, ensuring it adapts to evolving business needs. This position is responsible for guaranteeing that IRC and partner cost centers adhere to this policy when charging expenses as well as to other applicable financial rules and regulations of the IRC and the donor. The Finance Analyst ensures funding is appropriately distributed on a continuous basis across relevant cost centers, closely monitors expenditures, identifies variances, and initiates corrective actions as needed. Additionally, the role oversees timely grant closures to maintain financial accuracy. Central to this position is the development and refinement of expenditure tracking tools, primarily in Excel, to enhance financial monitoring. Collaboration with IRC offices and partner organizations is critical to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the cost allocation policy and to prevent non-compliance with expense guidelines. The Finance Analyst also provides essential support to the Director of Budget and Finance for Resettlement by assisting in the preparation of budget details for new grant proposals and the amendment of existing budgets. Reporting directly to the Director, the Finance Analyst works in close coordination with RAI staff and external partners to uphold financial accuracy and compliance across all operations.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead the update and maintenance of the R&P cost allocation policy to align with evolving business needs.
- Ensure compliance with the cost allocation policy across all IRC and partner cost centers for accurate expense charges.
- Allocate funding on a rolling basis to relevant cost centers and monitor expenditures for accuracy.
- Identify variances in expenditures and coordinate corrective action plans to ensure financial alignment.
- Oversee timely closure of grants to ensure compliance with financial and reporting requirements.
- Develop and refine expenditure tracking tools in Excel to enhance financial monitoring and reporting.
- Collaborate with IRC and partner offices to ensure proper understanding and implementation of the cost allocation policy.
- Support the Director of Budget and Finance for Resettlement in preparing and amending budget details for new and existing grant proposals.
- Other ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Budget and Finance of Resettlement.
