The Clinical Coordinator will assist physicians in all treatments and procedures, perform preoperative patient interviews and assessments including pre-op instructions, post-operative patient care and instructions, prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the Site Manager in the clinical supervision of Medical Assistants, ensuring all competencies and clinical responsibilities are completed accurately and ensuring that Medical Assistants are updated with new medical procedures and techniques
Observe, report and record patient’s condition, reaction to drugs and treatment, compile and record all patient laboratory information.
Assist providers during clinical practices, record patient histories and vital signs, venipuncture, injections and collect/prep specimens.
Prepare pre and post-operative surgical room including cleaning, sterilization and maintenance, monitor use of equipment, surgical instruments and supplies including the ordering of medical equipment and supplies
Triage calls and advise appropriate clinicians when necessary.
Assists in improving and maintaining the existing laboratory and pathology tracking system
Maintains precise records of all specimens obtained and sent for testing
Maintain weekly MA schedules/coverages
Weekly maintenance of Code Cart and Emergency medications/supplies for cart
Ensure all medications and injections are logged and accounted for
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must have a current New York State Registered Nurse License
2 years outpatient OB/GYN clinical experience
2 years of related supervisory experience
BCLS Required
ACLS Preferred
