Plant Engineer - comm'l heat treat
Growing heat treat with stable customer base and established footprint diverse areas seeks a plant engineer for an immediately available new hire.
Responsibilities:
- Train Employees as to the function and operation of heat treat equipment.
- Interpret/generate technical drawings.
- Interface with customers to analyze their needs & to provide specific recommendations.
- Properly prepare documentation and detailed records of processes / procedures / requirements to meets customers’ needs.
- Provide Technical Support to customers regarding services and processes offered by Nitrex and performances of old/new alloys submitted by customers.
- Review customer purchase order(s), specification(s), print(s), etc. and create a Job Card(s) with a sequenced processing plan.
- Monitor and evaluate processes on an ongoing basis.
- Interface with Production Manager and shop personnel and monitor jobs that are in process.
- Assist with identifying of non-conformances and participate as required in corrective actions.
- Work in junction with the Maintenance Technicians to develop and maintain preventive maintenance tasks/program.
- Oversee and assist (as necessary) with repairs and general maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
- Oversee equipment installation and/or removal.
- Electrical experience: wiring, labeling, PLC installation/programming.
- Experience in mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, motion control, plumbing and welding.
- Perform Project Management and advanced trouble-shooting skills.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance with Production Manager to assure minimal conflict with production scheduling.
- Maintain the Maintenance Log for Shop equipment along with the Equipment Repair log.
- Interface with vendors to analyze plant needs & to provide specific recommendations.
- Order supplies and/or equipment to replace, repair or maintain furnaces.
- Make sure equipment is maintained and meets Nitrex QA Manual and process Specifications.
- Possess excellent analytical, computer, observation and communication skills.
Requirements:
- Education and/or a relevant college degree in Engineering, Material Science, Metallurgy, Electrical or its equivalence may be accepted in lieu of specific skills noted above.
- Training, equivalency, or on-the-job experience is required in the following:Calibration Procedure, Maintenance Procedure , Lab Procedure, Processing Procedure
Salary : $85,000
