SUMMARY:
The Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for selling foundry products and services to manufacturing clients, requiring a deep understanding of casting processes, metal alloys, and customer needs, while actively identifying potential opportunities, providing technical expertise to address customer concerns, and closing deals within assigned territories, often involving frequent travel to customer sites.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Strategically analyze unique market segments for customer potential, focusing on long-term stability and profitability.
· Develop sales opportunities and market knowledge by researching and qualifying prospects, building and identifying key personnel accounts, and cultivating relationships while providing technical assistance and information.
· Communicate regularly with customer base and prospects through various channels, including onsite visits.
· Proactively advise customers on all active requests, lead time, deliveries, quality status, tooling conditions, and other details.
· Stay current in the changing, competitive market segments - Analyze and identify trends.
· Demonstrate products/services and guide customers towards selecting the most applicable solutions for their needs.
· Introduce established accounts to new products and updates, enhancing customer engagement.
· Develop and maintain strategic relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations to secure and expand our market presence.
· Handle communications with customers regarding pricing, delivery dates, terms and conditions; ensuring alignment with company policies.
· Respond promptly and effectively to all customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring top-notch service levels.
· Develop and identify strategic sales opportunities and close sales effectively.
· Eager to expand with new sales, clients, and territories in order to increase revenue.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· B.S./B.A. in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Metallurgical degree, or equivalent experience is required.
· 5 plus years of previous Foundry Sales and/or engineering experience in a fast-paced metals industry is required.
· Experience with No-bake, Green Sand, Investment, and Centrifugal Casting processes.
· Willingness to be “hands-on” and service all aspects of customer needs and demands.
· Must be willing and able to travel extensively - passing a driving record background check.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively and productively
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect, and interact with potential customers.
· In-depth understanding of company services and their position in the industry.
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
