International Ship Repair & Marine Services Inc. is looking for an experienced Marine Electrician.
Candidate must have at least 3-5 year’s experience holding the position of a Lead Marine Electrician. We are looking for self-motivated person who has experience leading a crew of electricians and/or multiple projects.
Candidate must be strong in troubleshooting skills on all on board electrical systems and provide direction to technicians. Hands on is a must. Previous experience in the Shipyard industry is a big plus.
Candidate must be proficient in Marine electrical installations, generation systems, and general marine electrical practices.
Candidate must be able to assist with bids and estimates as required. Understand electronic symbols and schematics, troubleshoot and make repairs to electronic equipment to level not requiring a specialized technician. Must be able to understand and troubleshoot motors, motor controllers, wound rotor systems, delta-wye systems, push button stations and register grids etc. Must be able to calculate KVA, calculate fuse sizes, wire sizes, calculate voltage requirements for shore power, generators, motors, transformers etc.
Must have working knowledge of and the ability to install, troubleshoot and repair automation and instrumentation including but not limited to plc’s, alarm systems, control systems, steering systems, engine order telegraph, fire detection system, oily water separators, engine control systems, etc., to a level not requiring a specialized technician.
Able to install, troubleshoot and repair DC Equipment to a level not requiring a specialized technician.
Able to train less experienced Marine Electricians.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.90 - $27.50 per hour
