Job Description
This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:
International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant to provide care for VA members and their families. The Certified Nursing Assistant provides essential support to nursing staff by helping patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating, as well as monitoring vital signs and reporting changes in patient conditions. They play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort and safety in various healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing patients for exams and procedures, including obtaining medical histories and ensuring comfort prior to assessments.
- Support clinical operations by scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient intake forms as needed.
- Provide basic health education and instructions to patients regarding their care, medications, and follow-up appointments in collaboration with nursing staff.
- Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Aiding patients with mobility and transferring them as needed.
- Feeding patients and assisting with nutritional needs.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Reporting changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Assisting with basic medical tasks, such as changing bed linens and restocking supplies.
- Following infection control protocols and maintaining hygiene standards.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Current, full and unrestricted license as a Nursing Assistant in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Nursing Assistant Certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Two (2) years recent experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Education Required:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Additional Information
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation| Min: $16hr Max: $26hr
