Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Paramedic to manage and oversee the EMS program at Fort Chaffee. The Lead Paramedic will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including direct paramedic care, program management, staff oversight, and liaison activities with various stakeholders. This role requires a strong leader who is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of ensuring the highest standards of emergency medical care and compliance with protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Paramedic Duties:
- Perform all duties as outlined in the Paramedic Scope of Practice (Arkansas), including providing emergency medical care and support in pre-hospital settings.
Program Management:
- Manage the On-Site Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program at Fort Chaffee.
- Liaise with the FOH Medical Program Contract Manager in Albuquerque, NM, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
Staff Management:
- Maintain travel and other records for all Full-Time and PRN staff.
- Schedule and maintain records for CPR/First Aid, Gunshot Trauma, Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) training, and first responder training for the entire customer staff at Fort Chaffee.
- Oversee the work of all other paramedics, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Facilitate the process of gaining access to Fort Chaffee and obtaining badges for full-time and part-time paramedics.
Medical Records and Documentation:
- Maintain all medical records and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program at Fort Chaffee, including regular checks and supply management.
- Oversee the Respiratory Protection Program and fit testing for the entire customer staff at Fort Chaffee, acting as the FOH Point of Contact (POC).
Training and Scheduling:
- Work with customer site management to coordinate scheduling and training for all activities requiring medical support.
- Determine the need for paramedic coverage and schedule accordingly, adhering to customer policy requirements.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the site Emergency Response Plan in collaboration with Emergency Management, Safety, and Training departments.
Protocol and Liaison Activities:
- Maintain and update Paramedic Protocols annually in consultation with the Medical Director.
- Act as a liaison to the FOH EMS Medical Director (consultant) for medical control and guidance.
- Maintain 12 medical bags, ensuring they are updated and restocked regularly.
- Serve as a liaison to surrounding EMS, Police, and Fire Departments to maintain updated pick-up locations and foster strong working relationships.
- Conduct quarterly meetings with Fort Chaffee Police and Fire Departments to review compound access and emergency pick-up point locations.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other tasks as assigned to support the overall mission and operations of the EMS program at Fort Chaffee.
Qualifications
- Licensed Paramedic with experience in managing EMS programs.
- Strong understanding of the Paramedic Scope of Practice (Arkansas) and ability to perform all related duties.
- Proven ability to manage records, schedules, and training programs effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to oversee a team of paramedics and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Experience in program management, particularly in a healthcare or EMS setting.
- Ability to maintain and update medical protocols in consultation with a Medical Director.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of care.
Reporting Structure: The Lead Paramedic reports to the Medical Program Manager and has the authority to ensure that project deliverables are provided in a professional and timely manner.

Compensation - Min: $90,000| Max: $115,000
This position is in the proposal stage, we are waiting to be awarded the project.
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. The final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
