Job Description
The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for supporting all medical laboratory functions. This includes performing advanced testing on blood, tissue, urine, stool, amniotic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, and other body specimens in a lab. The Technologist operates and maintains equipment to examine these samples, ensuring precise and timely results. The Medical Technologist will handle the advanced testing, quality control, troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and advanced laboratory functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works in a pathology lab, preparing samples, slides, and cultures for medical pathologists to review.
- Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
- Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
- Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
- Performance of other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Minimum of 5 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist including 6 months within the last year.
- Credentialed as an MLS (ASCP) cm or MLS (ASCP) cm eligible.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically a MRPT. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.
- Must be able to relocate to Iraq including a valid US passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Iraq.

Compensation | Min: 80,000 Max: 103,000
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
