Description :
Position Summary : Performs non-technical procedures in support of the testing process from initial set up of supplies to disposal of waste.Essential Job Duties :
- Handles serum, whole blood, plasma, and urine samples.
- Handles proper disposal of radioactive and biohazard waste.
- Performs sample management tasks such as volumization, building samples into load lists, labeling of samples, storage, and preparation for disposal.
- Assists in locating missing samples and pulling specimens from freezer storage locations.
- Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.
- Documents all quality assurance activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job related duties requested by department management.Required Education / Degree : High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Certification / License : NoneRequired Work Experience : Entry level. Training will be provided.Physical Demands : Requires utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on one's feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling. Requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Working Conditions : There is regular exposure to potential blood-borne pathogens and radiation and walk-in freezers.Schedule : Tuesday-Saturday 3pm-11 : 30pm
