Our client, a growing Buffalo area company with a long history (40 years) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team and play a critical role in designing and developing prototype products that could be manufactured at our facility. This role focuses on creating reliable, cost-effective mechanical designs, developing production procedures, and ensuring the durability and longevity of systems. You will collaborate closely with software and electrical engineers, technicians, and production teams to bring innovative products from concept to reality.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and draft mechanical components for each project.
- Develop and manage project timelines to meet critical deadlines, including show dates and open houses.
- Collaborate with software and electrical engineers, shop personnel, and technicians to optimize designs.
- Prioritize reliability, serviceability, and cost-efficiency in designs.
- Ensure adherence to ETL and UL standards during the design process.
- Create and maintain costed Bills of Materials (BOM) for each project.
