Nurse Manager / Emergency Room
Location : Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
Salary Range : $110,000 - $140,000 annually, plus bonus, full benefits, and signing bonus
Job Summary : Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the 24-hour management of the assigned unit, ensuring that patient care meets the highest standards. This role involves overseeing all components of the Emergency Room program, providing direct care to patients, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leadership and Management : Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff in the Emergency Department. Ensure that all staff members are performing their duties in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Patient Care : Oversee the delivery of patient care, ensuring that it meets the standard of care. Provide direct patient care as needed, particularly in complex or critical situations.
- Staff Development : Mentor and support the professional growth of nursing staff. Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate ongoing education and training.
- Operational Oversight : Manage the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ensure that the department is adequately staffed and that supplies are available.
- Quality Improvement : Lead quality improvement initiatives within the department. Monitor patient outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance the quality of care.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those set by the Joint Commission, OSHA, and other relevant bodies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, including ICU, Emergency Room, Same Day Surgery, and Administration, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Crisis Management : Respond to emergencies and critical incidents in the Emergency Department. Provide leadership and support during crises, ensuring that patient care is maintained.
