What are the responsibilities and job description for the 23410 HVAC MECHANIC position at International Support Group LLC?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including, but not limited to chillers, refrigerators, air conditioners, electric motors, heating units, hermetic compressors, commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, variable frequency drives, gates and packaged units throughout the sites. Some travel will be required including overnight stays.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
- Be able to perform a proper diagnostic, and make recommendations on any additional repairs/replacement on equipment outside of the Preventive Maintenance checklist with proper documentation
- Perform service diagnostics, recommend repairs, and assist in the quote process of material and labor costs required to submit a proposal for work. Complete service repairs and follow through with the completion process.
- Analyze, plan, and perform preventive maintenance of HVAC systems throughout various sites
- Plan shutdowns for maintenance and repair pumps, including chill water, heating water, and condensation pumps.
- Troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to HVAC system
- Adhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statutes.
- Keep maintenance records as required by City, State, Government, and EPA regulations
- Order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC equipment
- Manage relationships with all major vendor accounts
- Properly maintain and safeguard all assets kept in inventory (tools, equipment, parts)
- Any other duties assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Previous experience in HVAC or other related fields
- NATE and or Niagra certification is a huge plus
- Must possess HVAC/EPA licenses
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as, but not limited to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to run copper piping and PVC
- Ability to Quality Check (QC) completed jobs
- Ability to use laptop and tablet
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass federal background check and drug test.
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be willing to travel locally.
- Must have the ability to organize assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
