What are the responsibilities and job description for the Glazier-Kentucky position at International Union of Painters and Allied Trades?
GLAZIERS NEEDED IN LEXINGTON/GEORGETOWN/RICHMOND, KY
We are in need of an experienced glazier with the expectations of being able to cut, fabricate and install glass and architectural aluminum metal for windows, doors for commercial store fronts, glass curtain walls and unitized panel systems. You will install custom automatic doors and skylights in buildings as well as cut and install mirrors. Glaziers use a variety of power and hand tools as well as power equipment in the shop and on construction projects. During the installation process you will be required to properly set the metal, glass and seal the unit to be watertight. As an installer you will use wire clips, rubber gaskets, metal or wood moldings, putty and caulking to complete the installation process.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Be experienced in all phases of curtain wall, storefront and unitized panel systems.
Thorough understanding and ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
Basic hand tools, ability to use grinders, saws, caulk guns, scaffold, ladders, lift machines etc.
Knowledge of and abide by all job site safety standards/ OSHA compliance
Perform all glazing duties as assigned in absence of foreman.
Be a respectful union member on the jobsite
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
MUST be able to pass a drug screen, no exceptions.
To take direction from foreman and superintendent
Have basic hand tools
Have reliable transportation and ability to travel to required job sites.
Apprenticeship programs available with fully funded training
