We have a great opportunity for a Lead Data Steward.
As a Lead Data Steward, you will serve as the liaison between the data governance office and domain data stewards, be a custodian of governance for priority data domains and lead change management efforts to lay the foundation for comprehensive and lasting implementation of data governance across several data domains, with initial focus on the customer data domain.

This hybrid position will be based out of our World Headquarters in Lisle, Illinois, a suburb outside of Chicago.
Responsibilities
Governance Leadership :
Serve as liaison between Data Governance Office and domain data stewards
Convene data domain stewards, IT liaisons and working groups
Be the custodian of governance for the domain and relevant CDEs (Critical Data Elements)
Monitor and develop business-oriented data management strategies crafted by data stewards across functions.
Manage pipeline of data initiatives across functions, ensure frequent reporting on progress, and facilitate resourcing for priority projects.
Define consistent standards for data ingestion and consumption.
Drive consistent data retention and data storage guidelines across functions.
Lead change management and adoption efforts for the data domain
Approve official sources of data in scope
Metadata :
Evaluate and approve business definitions for data elements
Ensure Critical Data Elements (CDEs) reflect latest business priorities
Review data lineage and technical metadata for data elements
Confirm data catalog comprehensive and supports business objectives
Data Quality :
Lead remediation efforts for data quality issues
Define standards for domain data quality.
Approve data quality rules and controls
Monitor domain data quality dashboard and work with stewards to ensure continuous improvement.
Ensure the organization has access to quality data and raise data risks as appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
At least 5 years of data engineering, data quality and / or analytics or statistical analysis experience
At least 1 year of lead experience
Master’s degree
At least 3 years of data engineering, data quality and / or analytics or statistical analysis experience
At least 1 year of lead experience
At least 8 years of data engineering, data quality and / or analytics or statistical analysis experience
At least 1 year of lead experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Experience with data or IT, ideally with data quality expertise

Strong leadership experience with a proven increase in responsibilities over time
Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.

Strong project management leadership and experience in performance management metrics
Knowledge of data sources, transformation rules, and how stewards will support data
Technical experience in data architecture principles and design aspects of various DBMSs and reporting concepts
Strong proficiency in PLSQL, Spark, PySpark, Python and Pandas
Hands on experience in Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS and Event Hub
