Position OverviewThe Calibration Vehicle Technician will assist in the technical and logistical support of production-intent and development vehicles to be used in engineering on board diagnostics (OBD) and calibration testing. Within this team, strong communication skills are needed as you’ll be providing or coordinating instrumentation, maintenance, DoT readiness, and calibration updates and also diagnostic trouble shooting. You must also be detail oriented, as you’ll be working with different engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesCoordinating with engineering, vehicle program teams, site facility teams and plants in keeping constant and consistent communication to provide support for calibration fleet trucksInstalling testing instrumentation like thermocouples or pressure pickupsOrdering fleet type maintenance and repairs on class 4-8 trucksKnowing Dept. of Transportation requirements for trucks and trailersScheduling route and load tests based on engineering requestsMaintaining fleet documentation and presenting uptime reportsForecast budget requirements for vehicles at each siteAbility to travel to remote test locations to support engineering, customers, or production plantsKnowledge of service portal and ordering replacement partsDiagnostic fault analysis and execute service procedureCreate work orders in Maintenance ConnectionCreate pyxis of issues (include pictures, data, and significant details)Minimum RequirementsAssociate’s degreeAt least 6 years of experience supporting engineering activities and / or automotive or diesel mechanic experienceORAt least 8 years of experience supporting engineering activities and / or automotive or diesel mechanic experienceAdditional RequirementsQualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)Desired SkillsStrong communication skills in-person, on the phone, and by emailWell-versed in commercial class 8 fleet trucks, trailers, and on-highway normsKnowledgeable of maintenance cycles, DoT requirements, and procuring partsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookFamiliar with Calibration tools like INCA and CanalyzerFamiliar with performing calibration updates with service tools like Cummins InSIte, NED, or other service toolsFamiliar with CAN based datalinks and reading communication bussesFlexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing environmentEither have a Class A CDL or be willing to get oneIdentify, troubleshoot, contain, and permanently correct engineering issues in the assembly plantBenefits and CompensationWe provide a competitive total rewards package which ensures job satisfaction both on and off the job.
