Job Summary:
The Procurement Agent – Sales, under the direction of the General Manager, is responsible for selling products by calling prospective and established customers and determining priority and effort given to each account based on sales potential and sales maintenance. Under limited supervision – lead, coach, monitor, develop and motive the EWP sales and design team to achieve department sales goals and objectives. Procurement Agent duties include planning, purchasing and managing inventory of specific products for the company. Manage Mutli-Family Strategy. The candidate will maintain sales programs within assigned territory by keeping customers informed about available services, supplies, prices and new products. The duties will also include monitoring competitive activity and trends within the territory and will keep records and prepare reports on sales activities.
Essential Functions:
• Sales & Customer Relationship Management: Provide professional and courteous service to customers, including making outbound sales calls, following up on quotes/leads, and building strong relationships. Communicate market conditions, product information, specials, and programs to customers and internal sales staff. Engage with GM and SM to set branch/customer-specific goals and targets and develop programs accordingly. Travel to visit with customers and cultivate business partnerships.
• Product Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle, from purchasing and pricing to system setup, training, promotions, samples, literature, merchandising, inventory management, and end-of-life evaluation. Research and cultivate new vendors, interact with existing vendors, and negotiate vendor agreements to optimize cost, lead times, and co-op support. Actively seek and recommend new products and initiate product launches. Own and maintain vendor relationships, including regular communication and reviews. Maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitive products and pricing, market conditions, and freight concerns to anticipate material supply and evaluate gross margin opportunities. Communicate closely with sales, operations, corporate management, and key accounts. Work with the Operations team to evaluate product handling/packaging requirements.
• Design: Utilize AutoCAD to create design.
• Inventory Management: Purchase, manage, and maintain inventory to established standards for turns, turn and earn, and budgeted levels. Manage inventory levels to meet aging targets. Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counting. Use available systems to make informed inventory decisions and communicate information on incoming orders. Responsible for the inventory budgeting process and related ROA projections and management.
• Pricing & Sales Support: Maintain and update pricelists for the sales team. Assist in the development and implementation of special sales plans and programs. Maintain program pricing pages. Introduce new products to sales departments and coordinate product education for employees and customers.
• Communication & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal teams (sales, operations, management) and external stakeholders (customers, vendors). Respond promptly to calls and emails. Participate in scheduled Product Management meetings and shared calendar management.
• Analysis & Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as T&E, GMROI, GM %, category GM growth, and inventory management/dead stock %.

Education:
Two to four years related work experience.
