Job Summary:
The Pricing Analyst will play a crucial role in collaborating with purchasing and general managers to develop and execute effective pricing strategies by product and customer, analyze financial data, and ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. The Pricing Analyst will also update customer-facing pricing in the ERP system, and on customer-facing excel-based price pages. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, financial acumen, and the ability to work across department lines. Experience in the building materials industry or industry-adjacent experience will ensure early success in the role, as will experience with Bistrack/Epicor.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and General Managers to formulate well-informed pricing strategies that align with financial objectives and market dynamics.
- Analyze profitability data, customer sales trends, and industry trends to provide informed recommendations for pricing decisions.
- Create financial models to assess the financial impact of various pricing scenarios on revenue, margin, and profitability.
- Evaluate the potential effect of pricing changes on overall profitability and the company's financial health.
- Update system pricing and excel-based price communications as needed by product to optimize time to update pricing.
- Streamline price update process and toolset, inclusive of ERP maintenance, price page production, and price change impact evaluation.
- Foster effective collaboration with finance, sales, operations, and marketing teams to gather input, share insights, and facilitate informed decision-making.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and pricing data used in analysis and decision-making.
Experience, Skills & Competencies:
3 – 5 years’ experience as a Pricing Analyst, Financial Analyst, or a comparable role, preferably within the building materials or wholesale distribution industry. Strong financial acumen, with advanced skills in data analysis and Excel. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for productive collaboration with diverse teams. Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy of system pricing and any financial models. Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Experience in the building materials or wholesale distribution industry strongly preferred, as is knowledge of wholesale distributor pricing strategy.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
