The Financial Analyst/Staff Accountant is a multi-functional role supporting the finance and accounting team in all day-to-day FP&A and general accounting functions.
The salary range on this job posting/advertising has been developed to give applicants a wide range to comply with pay transparency laws in all states and geographical areas. Many factors, such as years of experience, geographical location, budget etc. are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. This role may be eligible for an incentive, commission, bonus, or a discretionary bonus program based on the company’s financial goal achievement and individual performance.
Responsibilities
• Provide support for financial analysis, strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business planning for the company• Support Excel modeling and preparation of PowerPoint presentations / visuals to show progress, updates, and status• Ad-hoc assignments in support of requests from the divisions• Continuously review current processes and identify opportunities for potential improvements or enhancements• Month-end closing activities, journal entries, intercompany entries, proper accruals & accurate reporting• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis• Review and submit supplier payment request to Corporate AP. Ensure all necessary documentation is provided and follow up on discrepancies. Update Invoice data and totals upon payment confirmation• Assist with initiation and maintaining collections on open commission invoices via consistent and timely outreach to partner properties via email and phone calls• Assist with researching commission payments received without client/guest names: identify commissions payments which are missing details and contact supplier/vendor for backup• Assist with Special ERP and TM1 implementation testing project• Prepare indirect tax related filing and compliance as needed• Perform internal control testing and documentation as directed
Qualifications
• Good Understanding of US GAAP accounting• 4-year degree in finance related major. Accounting preferred but not required• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Intermediate to Advance Excel Skills• Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Critical thinker, with autonomy and problem-solving capabilities• Experience in NetSuite a plus• Knowledge of the travel industry a plus
