Overview
Working with the Vice President, Business Transformation, this role will help to set the strategic direction of Global Travel Collection and to support each department in setting key quarterly goals and initiatives. The employee will be expected to lead key strategic projects and to own the future marketing data strategy and marketing ROI analytics.
The role will be responsible for leading a range of key strategic projects within GTC. The candidate will be expected to lead all phases of a project lifecycle: project creation, project planning (including timelines, critical path, goals, upsides, risks), project management, and measuring success against agreed timelines & budget. Projects will generally be linked to revenue/profit maximization, analytics and dashboard creation for senior management, or marketing strategy.
Responsibilities
- Support the Vice President, Business Transformation, to set strategy for the company and design annual and quarterly goals for each department
- Run quarterly planning sessions with departmental leadership teams to set goals for quarter ahead
- Act as a senior member of the strategic development team, supporting the team on key priorities: project management, dashboard creation, leading complex analysis and analytics and presenting results to senior management.
- Design a marketing database strategy for GTC based on ROI metrics and profit maximization. Set up marketing dashboards and analytics and use this data to inform future strategy and decision making
- Act as line manager to the marketing database analyst, providing leadership and direction
- Owning key strategic projects:
- Working with departmental leaders to understand goals, generate potential solutions and analyze the advantages and disadvantages (both financial & non-financial) of those potential solutions. Present these rationale to other leaders
- Creating project plans including details of tasks required, owners and timelines, with the departmental leader
- Designing complex financial models and presentations to clearly demonstrate financial ROI from projects
- Monitoring & reporting on project plans to ensure projects remain on time and on budget
- Preparing all status reporting, issues tracking, risk management, resource management, etc. Distributing status reports to all stakeholders to keep everyone updated and support change management
- Reviewing the project schedule with senior management and all other staff affected by the project activities; revise/update schedule as required. Establishes a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
- Works with the projects leaders and other resources involved to solve any problems that arise including where deadlines are not being met, unforeseen issues arise of situations change
- The employee will also be expected to identify further opportunities for projects to drive incremental improvements and pitch those projects to leadership
Qualifications
Requirements
- 2 years’ strategy or management consulting experience
- Native or business fluent English (spoken & written)
- Project management experience
- Strong analytical & financial skills
- Excellent communication across all levels of the organization is paramount to the success of this role.
- Superior attention to detail and ability to prioritize with changing demands
- Strong time management skills
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills required to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in this environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Travel experience not necessary but a bonus
- Marketing experience not necessary but a bonus
- Proficiency in Smartsheets not necessary but a bonus
