Scope :
The Laboratory Technologist Conducts clinical laboratory testing utilizing Company’s patented technology platform, Topographic Genotyping . Maintains lab documentation to comply with Good Laboratory Practices. Supports work of Director of Laboratory Operations and Chief Scientific Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs lab work associated with Topographia Genotyping, including PCR and genetic analysis, as well as other techniques and processes as may be required to support the scientific and commercial needs of the Company. Accurately conducts analysis / examination using validated methods and reporting of results.
- Documents lab processes and procedures, adheres to established laboratory protocols in compliance with regulating bodies.
- Provides technical laboratory support for all clinical and research efforts associated with scientific and commercial needs.
- Properly uses and maintains lab equipment, lab reagents and supplies, and calibrates equipment as / when necessary.
- Provides necessary support for smooth operation and delivery of Company’s services.
- May train or oversee new Laboratory Technologists.
- Reviews NY State Standards and CAP checklists and assists in preparation for inspections.
- Participates in identifying and making changes in process to improve quality of analyses.
- Handles special projects and other tasks as assigned.
- Participates in the maintenance of the Quality Management System and quality control program regarding all aspects of laboratory operations, ensuring the integrity of analytical testing and results. This includes preparing and updating SOPs, use of appropriate controls and QA of results.
- Performs duties in compliance w / laboratory safety & infection control practices.
- Maintain competency through performance evaluation and proficiency testing.
