Job Summary
A hiker/parking attendant is responsible for parking customer’s vehicles when they enter the facility and retrieving customer’s vehicles when they exit the facility.
Essential Functions
Drives, maneuvers, and parks automatic and stick shift cars in confined, underground facilities, surface lots, and up and down steep parking ramps.
Returns to work stations quickly so as to facilitate optimal customer flow.
Handles each vehicle with care and attention, and follows all facility safety precautions.
Remain vigilant for anything unusual or potentially threatening and inform management immediately.
Monitor work area and property for safety and security.
Reports any accidents, hazards or maintenance requirements, and the presence of any suspicious individuals or activities immediately to a manager.
Recognize potentially dangerous situations and respond in the safest and most effective manner.
Participate in all safety and security trainings within the market.
Provides outstanding customer service by responding to customer needs, questions, and problems and/or complaints as quickly and efficiently as possible.
May assist customers in and out of vehicle.
Depending on location needs, may be required to perform cashier duties or light garage/lot maintenance duties.
Depending on location, may have to ride/operate man lift.
Required Qualifications
Must know how to and be able to drive automatic and manual transmission passenger vehicles.
Possess math skills sufficient to calculate time and money.
Must be able to understand verbal instructions and act accordingly in a timely manner.

Valid driver’s license; depending on location, may require a valid driver’s license from the state in which the employee works.
Must be able to pass a basic math skills test as part of the selection process.
Must be willing to submit to a drug, background investigation and MVR/Driving Record check as part of the selection process.
Must be willing to work in a parking garage/location in the (City, State) area.
Must be willing and able to work outdoors and be exposed to all types of weather elements.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to walk to or move to assist customers in a timely manner. In some cases, must be able to travel up and down parking garage ramps in order to assist customers and address garage issues.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Professional experience parking cars or working as a valet attendant.
Prior customer service industry experience.
Possess excellent communication skills in order to facilitate interactions with co-workers, superiors, and customers.
Possess strong time management skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with high customer volume.
Positive attitude and strong customer focus.
Ability to grasp, push, scoop, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
