Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the company’s strategic direction
- Serve as primary expert for all stamping and tooling activities.
- Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for any department involved in stamping, secondary and automation activities.
- Investigate root cause and implement corrective action to restore performance to prescribed standards when required.
- Ensure implementation and refinement as required of formal process to support the engineering development process.
- Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities and ensure that engineering is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements.
- Develop, test, modify, implement, and validate solutions to technical problems and optimize existing programs including design of equipment, machinery, and processes.
- Present reports on applicable performance during Management Review and/or as required.
- Participate in NPI, APQP, FMEA, processes as required.
- Ensure all process changes follow the ECN process and are documented.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
- Highly attentive with attention to detail.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as tolerances, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, Mini Tab, & other Advanced Statistical Software.
- Capable of conducting DOE’s.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Intermediate to advanced math skills including ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, areas, ratios, circumference, and volume.
